December Updates

Welp… it’s the last month of the year and the holiday season is in full swing!

First … please come out to our next meeting which is our holiday potluck and handmade gift exchange. We will be playing a game to facilitate the swapping, so it should be a fun and relaxing gathering to close out the year! You can sign up to RSVP and bring something here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4BA4A729A2F94-53089313-hgcholiday#/

And second, this is my last missive to you all as president of the Haverford Guild of Craftsmen. I’ll still be around and on the board keeping the website up and running and generally be taking care of all the “nerd stuff” — and I’ll still be co-chair of our Art & Fine Craft show, so you’re not getting rid of me that easily. But I do also want to say thank you to everyone for your support during my time as president. I really appreciate each and every one of you who help out at the shows, participate in meetings, make-n-takes and put up with some of my nuttier ideas. Even with going through a pandemic and all the craziness all of you (our members and friends) are the reason why we were able to survive through some —interesting— times.

I also want to shout out to all of the board members who also supported me throughout my terms as president. Everyone who volunteered, hosted and helped out, having an active board is the reason why we were able to get anything done as a guild, and we got a lot done!

And I also want to extend a warm welcome to our next president, Brian Middleton. Brian is a great guy, and if you hadn’t had a chance to get to know him yet, take the time to chat with him when you meet him next. I’m confident that he is going to do a great job and he and our other new board members, Wendy Merron and Beth Galinsky are going to bring some fresh new ideas and insights to our board.

Thank you all for your support and I’ll see you at the next meeting!
Christine Wright, President
