The Haverford Guild of Craftsmen Spring Art & Fine Craft Show is a non-profit organization committed to encouraging and promoting the practice of fine craft and art in Haverford Township and environs through fellowship and networking at monthly meetings as well as educational and sales opportunities in our community.

Our Fine Art & Craft Shows are our main source of fundraising for our member activities. Volunteers are a valuable and integral part to fulfilling our mission. If you would like to sign up to volunteer, click here.

SHOW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Greeters:

Yours will be the first face that attendee’s see. Your job is to welcome them, ask them to sign in, give directions, and sell admission and raffle tickets. As a committee you will locate and organize a list of volunteers into shifts to cover all hours of the show. Your committee chair will help you and give you all of the forms and supplies needed. You are not alone! The greeter committee person will be located close to the greeters. All monies collected will be turned over to the Show Chairperson at the end of the show.

Signage Volunteers:

Signage volunteers will place the signs out before the show begins and takes them back down again after the show. Spouses are welcome to sign up! The show chair will have a map with where the signs should go.

Booth Layout Committee:

The booth committee first meets to plan the floor layout – making the best use of the space and as balanced as possible. Then, during the setup day, the Booth Layout Committee tapes the spaces on the floor down so that artists know where to go to set up their booth.

Cords Committee:

The Cords Committee is responsible for taping down the cords and surge protectors that artists will plug into for the duration of the show.

Publicity & Sponsorship Committee:

Help get the word out! We need advertising and sponsors to help make this show a success. There are lots of ways to help out.

Artist Display/Raffle & Membership Tables:

On the day of the show we will need someone to “man” the Artist Display table and call the winners of the raffle. This person will also be there to answer questions about guild membership as well as hand out membership forms to anyone who is interested.

Décor & Hospitality:

On the day of the show we will need volunteers to help us out with decorations and stocking & manning the artist hospitality area.

Loading Dock:

On the day of the show we will need volunteers to help us out help the artists load in and out with the loading doc. We will provide walkie-talkies and safety vests.

Storage Unit:

We will need help (preferably from someone with a larger vehicle) getting our show supplies from and to our storage unit. The ideal person for this would be someone who is not a participating artist (and doesn’t already have a packed vehicle). Multiple trips are perfectly fine.

The Storage Unit is located at Public Storage in Haverford.
